James E. Dunkerson, 91, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

He was born on August 8, 1932, in Sebree, KY, to the late Mary Crowley Dunkerson and Aaron Dunkerson. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. James retired after forty-two years as a welder from Whirlpool. He loved yardwork.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene, Charles, and Gary; and sisters, Edith, Hazel, and Sharon.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Linda Pleasant Dunkerson; sons, Alan (Lois) Dunkerson and Jeffrey Dunkerson, both of Madisonville; granddaughter, Anna Dunkerson; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Reverend Howard Jones officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
