James Odean Dixon, 89, of Manitou, Ky, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Monday May 2, 2011 at Sunny Acres in Calhoun, Ky.

He was born on January 26, 1922 in Manitou, Ky. to the late Lewis and Lena Hyatt Dixon. He was a farmer and a 1943 graduate of Nebo High School. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Lewis Dixon.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Reace (J.C.) Harris of Manitou, and two nephews, Carroll Lewis Dixon and William Thomas Dixon.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday May 5, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Terry Rhye officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Manitou.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Carroll Dixon, Tommy Dixon, Howard Parish, Dennis Duncan, Roy Day and Kyler Day.
