James "Ice Cream Man" Curtis Garrison, 54, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Baptist Health Madisonville.
He was born on December 13, 1962 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Lillian Joyce Garrison and James Arthur Garrison. This morning the world is a little darker. James was loved by so many from the oldest to the youngest. His smiling face will never be forgotten. He received joy from delivering the ice cream to young and old alike. We think he gave more away than sold...which is a statement to the type of person he was. James was very active and loved his mission work that he and his wife performed in the Philippines and was a member of Grapevine Holiness Church in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bernard Wells.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Patricia Garrison; brother, Grover (Theresa Morris) Garrison of Raleigh, IL; sisters, Virginia Jeffries and husband, Richard and Paula Davis Wells both of Harrisburg, IL; several nieces and nephews; and Edgar and Cathy Veloso of Cebu, Philippines whom he considered as his children.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Rodney James officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the funeral home.
