James L. "Jimmy" Armstrong, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on October 5, 1953 in Fort Campbell, KY to the late Bernice S. "Nikki" Sharp Armstrong and James L. Armstrong. Jimmy was a graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School and was a self employed contractor. He was previously employed at Fugate Lumber Company, Modern Supply and U.C. Milk Company in Madisonville. Jimmy enjoyed woodworking, fishing and bowling. He also enjoyed NASCAR and collecting NASCAR memorabilia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Deborah Armstrong.

Survivors include his sisters, Laura Armstrong of Madisonville and Karen A. (Allen) Oldham of Brentwood, TN; brother, Dwight (Cynthia) Armstrong of Brentwood; nieces, Alison (Ben) Boeving and Jessica Armstrong; and his nephews, Russell (Kristen) Oldham and James "JR" Robert (Rachel) Armstrong.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Loletuth Kalz officiating. Inurnment to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

A visitation will be held from Noon until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
