James Lee Armstrong, 58, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

He was born on August 1, 1966, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Mada Lou Pryor Armstrong and James Elvin Armstrong. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a truck driver for Tyson Foods. James attended North Hopkins High School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman until poor health ended those pursuits.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Matthew Armstrong of Madisonville; and his sister, Christine Harris of Dawson Springs, KY.

He is survived by his sister, Marita Jan Bush, of Nashville, TN; nephew, Lucas Pergler of Gallatin, TN; niece, Lisa Kinghorn of Maple Grove, MN; two great-nephews; and three great-nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 pm on October 19, 2024, at the Nebo Community Center, 100 South Bernard Street, Nebo, KY 42441. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the James L. Armstrong Memorial Fund at Fifth Third Bank.
