Jackie J. Jewell, 72, of Hanson, Ky. passed away at 11:11 p.m. on Thursday February 3, 2011 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Ky.
He was born on November 30, 1938 in Madisonville to the late Pete Jewell and Anna Bell Jewell. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a pit foreman with Peabody (Gibraltar) Coal. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by a son, Jeff (Shelley) Jewell of Madisonville; a daughter, Jamie (Dr. Terry E. Brown)of Hanson; a brother, Joey (Pattie)Jewell of Madisonville; a sister, Jill (Ron) Noffsinger of Manitou, Ky.; a grandson, Bryce Jewell; three granddaughters, Lindy Jewell, Katelyn Brown and Karah Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Woody Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Hanson Cemetery in Hanson.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins County Humane Society.
