Jackie Dickerson, 76, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville, KY.

He was born on November 6, 1938 in Madisonville, KY to the late Myrtle and Troy Dickerson. Jackie was a United States Army Veteran and a life long member of Providence Rural United Methodist Church in Hanson, KY. He was a retired coal miner for Christian Coal Mines. He enjoyed working on his farm and restoring antique John Deere tractors.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Jane Dickerson of Madisonville; sons, Alfred Troy (Rochelle) Dickerson of Hopkinsville, KY, Lane (Vicki) Dickerson of Madisonville, and Christopher L. (Michelle) Dickerson of Madisonville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Glen Sowards and Bro. Chuck Ladd officiating. Burial to follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Carrico, Bob Brown, Butch Clayton, Harvey Oglesby, Danny Baldwin, and David Browning. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Hancock, Don Moore, Glenn Cornelius, Terry Hampton, and James Wallace.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jackie's memory to Providence Rural United Methodist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
