Lucy Ilene Poe, 81, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

She was born on October 31, 1941, in Madisonville, to the late Blonnie Mae Walker Ruby and William Thomas Ruby. She loved cooking, crocheting, and listening to gospel music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a member of Silent Run Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lee Poe; daughter, Ruth Darlene Duncan; sister, Minnie Eunice Penrod; brother, Clarence Darrell Ruby; infant sister; and an infant brother.

Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Jan) Poe of Manitou, KY and Jeffery (Cathy) Poe of Buchanan, MI; brother, Elmer Thomas (Freda)  Ruby of Lewisburg, KY; grandchildren, Mary Ann Poe, Aaron (Brittany) Duke, Derrick Cowen, Jamie (Kelsey) Daugherty, Josh Daugherty, and Jessica (Dustin) Colburn; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Daugherty officiating. Burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeff Corbitt, Aaron Corbitt, Dustin Corbitt, Jamie Daugherty, Dustin Colburn, and Josh Daugherty.
