Halcyon Racena Hardin Slaughters, Ky.- Halcyon Racena Hardin 88, of Slaughters, Ky. died at 3:15 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, Ky.

She was born March 25, 1920, in Slaughters, Ky. to the late Matt E. Toombs and Lottie Eastwood Toombs. She was a homemaker and a clerk at Smith & Reynolds store. She was a member of Old Salem United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Marshall Hardin in Jan. 1984; and a brother, Verchoyle Toombs.

Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Patsy Toombs of Madisonville, Ky.; her nephew and caregiver, Mark Toombs of Madisonville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2009, in the chapel at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Harry Baldwin and Rev. Jerry Hatchett officiating. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery in Slaughters, Ky.
