Gerald M. "Jerry" Buchanan, 77, of Madisonville, Ky., died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at his home.

He was born November 26, 1931, in Helena, MT., to the late Howard Buchanan and Christine Barnes Buchanan. He was manager of Cablevision in Madisonville for over 20 years. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He received man of the year for the Lion's Club, The Rotary Club and Woodmen of the World. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Ruth Brown Buchanan; two daughters, Debra Buchanan of Warminster, PA. and Maureen Moore of Ivyland PA.; one son, Keith Buchanan of Bensalem, PA.; three brothers, Gary Buchanan, Allen Buchanan and Tom Buchanan all of Consul Sask, Canada. Five grandsons,one granddaughter. one great granddaughter and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2009, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, Ky. with Rev. Dennis Mayfield officiating. Burial will be in Dalton Cemetery in Dalton, Ky.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Green River Hospice, American Cancer Society and Dalton Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
