George W. Morgan, 85, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at NHC nursing Home in Madisonville.

He was born on November 12, 1929 in McMinnville, TN to the late Leona Gribble Morgan and Hollie Morgan. He was a retired lumber inspector for Koppers. George was an avid fisherman, he loved to travel and enjoyed wood work making beautiful furniture. Most of all though he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Tennessee National Guard and a member of Church of Christ in Madisonville, KY.

In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by brothers Marvin and Ernest; and sisters, Ruby, Hazel, Novella, and Magdline.

He is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Martha Templeton Morgan of Madisonville; daughters, Janice (Kenny) Montgomery of Madisonville, and Vickie (Mike) Frank of Evansville, IN; grandchildren Jacob (Melissa) Taylor of Madisonville, Wil Frank of Evansville, IN, and Morgan (Kevin) Frank of Evansville, IN; great grandchildren Zoe Taylor of Monkeys Eyebrow, KY, Lylah and Pierce Colbert of Evansville, IN and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are postponed due to inclement weather. To be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Walling, TN. with Gene Coulter officiating. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Taylor, Wil Frank, Joe Eaton, Dwight Mason, Mike Frank, and Kenny Montgomery.

Memorial contributions may be made in George's memory to the Hopkins County Humane Society, the American Cancer Society or Rock Island Church of Christ in Rock Island, TN.
