Geneva "Jean" Drake Barnes, 79, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at LTACH Baptist Health Continue Care in Madisonville.

She was born on February 6, 1942 in Madisonville, KY to the late Geneva Belle Pryor Marks and Radney Joe Drake. She was formerly employed by South Main Café as a cook. She enjoyed camping, cooking, and visiting with friends. Geneva was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Barnes; daughter, Shirley Fay Virge; and a great-grandson, Clarence Edward Allen Virge.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty Hathaway of Mortons Gap, KY and Sherry (Rodney) Woolfolk of Evansville, IN; son, Barry Wayne Barnes of Madisonville; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in the chapel of Harris Funeral home in Madisonville with Wyman Ray officiating. Burial to be held at a later date.

A visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
