Garnet Calvin Johnson, 95, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

He was born on December 1, 1925, in Citra, FL, to the late Samantha Corne Johnson and George Lorenzo Johnson. He was a retired self-employed truck driver. Garnet was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He loved to go fishing, posting on facebook, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Gunsmoke daily. He read his bible every night and was a member of the Earlington First Baptist Church

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Turner Johnson; his second wife, Cathy Johnson; four brothers; and eight sisters.

Survivors include his son, Jim (Phyllis) Johnson of Madisonville; daughter, Vivian Spangler of Lake Butler, FL; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 S Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.

A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at J. Henry Stuhr Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
