Frances Morgan Hawkins, 87, of Madisonville, passed away Saturday, January 10. Frances was born in Madisonville October 2, 1927 to the late Mr. & Mrs. William D Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Robert W. Hawkins, son, Robert W. Hawkins Jr., and brother, W. Duncan Morgan Jr.

Her survivors are son and daughter in law, Bill and Kathy Hawkins of Newburgh, IN, grandson, Kyle Hawkins of Louisville, KY, granddaughter, Melissa (Zac) Beavers and great-granddaughter, Jaycee Beavers of Ashland City, TN.

Frances attended University of Kentucky and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and Tau Sigma dance Fraternity. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville.
An avid and accomplished dancer from childhood on, she appeared in numerous dance reviews in her early years. Her love of dance and lifelong love of children led to her founding of the Morgan School of Dancing in 1946, where she taught dance and performed for a number of years in the Madisonville area. She is fondly remembered for her permanent smile, her cheerful nature, and her skill in the art of being mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Jeff Calhoun officiating.

Visitation will from 1 p.m. until the service hour Saturday at Harris Funeral Home.
