Evangeline McDowell, 89, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at her daughters home.

She was born on February 11, 1923 in Graham, KY to the late Gala Leora Tyson and Hanson Tyson. She was formerly a nurses aide for the Convalescent Center in Madisonville and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McDowell, Sr.; three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her three daughters, Martha (Jerry) Hinton of Paducah, KY, Rebecca Webb of Eddyville, KY and Melanie (Sammy) Sookey of Evansville, IN; her two sons, Jesse (Brenda) McDowell, Jr. of Madisonville and Tommy McDowell of Eddyville, KY; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Donny Neal officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jesse McDowell III, Jerry Hinton, Tommy McDowell, Sammy Sookey, Greg Webb and Jesse McDowell, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth McDowell, Jeremy Sookey and Cody McDowell.
