Eugene "Pee Wee" Ward Dickerson, 88, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.

He was born on November 19, 1935, in Nortonville, KY, to the late Vadie Lucille Blaine Dickerson and Elic Paul Dickerson. He retired as a coal miner from Peabody Coal Company. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Eugene was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Aretta Dickerson; and siblings, Wanda Pleasant, James Paul Dickerson, and Oretha Todd.

Survivors include his siblings, Leroy (Marilyn) Dickerson of Beulah, KY, Michael Dickerson of Dawson Springs, KY, and Fay Davis of Lincoln Park, MI; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews including niece, Belinda (Mount) Davis of Evansville, IN; other great nieces and nephews that he considered grandchildren, William Doster, Turner Davis, Hannah Davis, and Justin Doster.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Tami Coleman officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Kevin Dickerson, Turner Davis, William Doster, Justin Doster, Troy Hancock, and Pat Eaves. Honorary pallbearer is Robert Hankins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center, Heart to Heart Hospice, St. Vincent Emergency Department and the 6 East Unit for the care PeeWee was given in his final days.
