Etta Mae Clayton Back, 80, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess.

She was born on April 24, 1944, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Elvie Mae Cunningham Clayton and Rufus Thomas Clayton. Her first job was at Alford's Drive-In and she later retired from Country Cupboard as a manager was also a Mary Kay Consultant. She loved music. Etta Mae was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of forty-seven years, Roy Thomas Back; and her beloved pet, Suzette.

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Teresa Nostal of Michigan; several cousins; and her caregiver and family friend, James and Christy Funkhouser and family of Madisonville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bishop Ronald Hendricks officiating and Matt Browning assisting. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Mark Cunningham, James Daniels, Seth Funkhouser, Zachary Ewing, Isaiah Wilson, and James Funkhouser. Honorary pallbearer is Malix Wilson.
