Ernestine "Love" Nevitt of Madisonville, KY. This Christian Lady ran her race, finished her course, and said "goodbye" to those she loved and cherished. Eighty-six years she lived upon this earth, and she birthed four children, Joni Nevitt of Burlington, KY, Barry Craig Nevitt of Harrisburg, IL, Reginald DeWayne Nevitt (Tammy) of Flint, MI and Sharon Lee Nevitt whom passed away as an infant. I am sure her husband, Lee Roy Nevitt was waiting there at the pearly gates, along with their daughter, her parents, Nellie and Willie Van Neal and many other family and friends to greet her.
We have precious memories: Countless meals, chocolate pies, breakfasts, holidays, birthdays, funerals, weddings and vacations. We shall never fill the void that this one of a kind lady left. Our mom, Gran, daughter, wife, nurse, insurance "saleslady" at Lincoln Life Insurance Company, furniture "saleslady" at Jordan Furniture and "Ernie" to the friends, neighbors, doctors and nurses that she had walked side by side with at Trover Clinic and Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was very creative and learned to play the piano in her spare time and even took up painting and quilting always eager to take on a new endeavor.
She loved Jesus and she taught us to live the Word, love the Word, love JESUS and "to know Jesus for yourself". Ernestine often attended Praise Temple and she was a member of The Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. To you mom who made sure we had all we needed and much of what we wanted. Christmas, birthdays, gas money, puppies, cats, ponies and such...spankings! Hugs, tears, talks and for making sure everyone within ear range knew all of our middle names. Thank you, your love made us better people.
Our family later blessed her with five grandchildren, Jordan Sisk, Kelsey Sisk Williams, America Nevitt, Craig Nevitt and Kylie Nevitt and a beautiful great-granddaughter, Charlie Harper Little; Ernestine also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
