Emma Joyce Baxter, 68, of Madisonville, KY. passed away at 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday June 22, 2010 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

She was born on March 23, 1942 in Rumsey, KY. to the late J.M. Davis and Emma McRoy Davis. She was formerly employed with General Electric, Melody Lanes and Wal-Mart. She attended Life Temple Pentecostal Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Helen Gipson; five brothers, Chester Davis, Curtis Davis, Paul Davis, Jerry Davis and Dub Davis.

She is survived by her husband Barry Baxter; two daughters, Tammy (Doug) Heltsley of Madisonville and Cindy Baxter also of Madisonville; one son, Barry (Teresa) Baxter Jr. of Clarksville, TN.; two sisters, Donna Davis of Evansville, IN. and Doris Whitfield of Madisonville, KY.; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday June 25, 2010 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Ben Holloway officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Harris Funeral Home.
