Edward Robertson, 88, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 1:40 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center in Madisonville.

He was born on July 23, 1925 in Madisonville, KY to the late Willis Robertson and Bonnie Sampson Robertson. He was a United States Navy WWII Veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. La Prade. He was formerly a coal miner with East Diamond Coal Company and a farmer. He attended Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou, Ky.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Rodney Fireline.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Eula Kathleen Robertson; his son, Willis (Linda) Robertson of Madisonville; his daughters, Barbara (Jim) Mitchell of Hanson, KY and Jenny (Ronnie) Fireline of Anton, KY; his grandson, Heith Robertson of Madisonville, Cameron Mitchell of Madisonville and Brian Mitchell of Fairview, TN; and his granddaughter, Tara Cardwell of Manitou; and twelve great -grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Eddie Fleming officiating and Justin Cardwell assisting. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Heith Robertson, Brian Mitchell, Justin Cardwell, Donnie Todd, Denny Pearson and Ronnie Fireline. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Mitchell, Jimmy Todd and Jim Mitchell.

Memorial contributions may be made in Edward's memory to Concord General Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
