Edward "Buddy" Minton,Sr., 74, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on August 27, 1941 in Crofton, KY to the late Ossie and Sterling Minton. Buddy was a United States Army Veteran and was formerly a coal miner with Green River Coal. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Mallacoat.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Carolyn Minton; sons, Mark Minton and wife, Sissy of Madisonville, Edward Minton, Jr. and wife, Belinda of Princeton, KY, Scott Minton and wife, Rochelle of Dawson Springs and Mark Nation Ellis and husband, Dave of Indiana; daughters, Liesha Windes and husband, Glenn of St. Louis, MO and Ossie Minton and fiance', Alan Alfred of Dawson Springs; sisters, Elizabeth Hopper and husband, Charles, Phyllis Gray, Charlotte Harp and Ruby Sanford; brother, Clifton Wyatt; thirty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Elizabeth Hopper officiating. Burial to be held at a later date.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
