Edna Gates Wells, 79, of Robards Ky. passed away at 6:15 a.m. on Sunday July 10, 2011 at her daughters home in Paducah, Ky.

She was born on July 7, 1932 in Todd County, Ky. to the late Halline and Chester Gates. She was formerly employed as a secretary with Wells Motors in Robards, Ky. and retired from Gamco Products in Henderson, Ky. She loved learning and reading, education was always important to her. She also loved studying the Bible, dancing, singing and gardening. She was a member of Robards Baptist Church in Robards, Ky.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, P.H. Wells whom she married on March 22, 1950; her brother, James Gates and her sister, Virginia Hardin.

She is survived by two daughters, Patty (Ronald) Crow of Chandler, IN. and Tammy (David) Peevyhouse of Paducah, Ky.; a son, Ron (Vicki) Wells of Newburgh, IN.; eight sisters; six brothers; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday July 12, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, Ky. with Bro. Billy Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.
