Edna Buchanan's Obituary
Edna Buchanan, 79, of Manitou, KY passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at her home.
She was born on July 16, 1937 in Central City, KY to the late Daisy and Henry Carter, Sr. She was a charter member of Carters Chapel General Baptist Church in Madisonville. Edna enjoyed bowling, fishing, planting flowers, bird and animal watching and watching rodeo's and bull riding. She loved her cats.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Carter, Jr. and Jewel Carter; and a sister, Beatrice Mallory.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Morris Eugene Buchanan; daughter, Regina Buchanan of Manitou; brothers, Raymond Carter of Anthony, FL and Lee Carter of Hanson, KY; a sister, Gracie Cox of Providence, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Carters Chapel General Baptist Church 580 Wyatt Ave. in Madisonville with Bro. Ruby Rickard officiating. Burial to follow at Concord Cemetery in Manitou. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at the church.
