Edmund "Shorty" Boykin, 73, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at his home.

He was born on May 16, 1942 in Madisonville, KY to the late Sadie and Willie Boykin. Edmund was a self employed furniture salesman and in his spare time enjoyed camping, fishing and playing poker. He was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Finley Boykin and a sister, Dorothy Boykin.

Survivors include his daughter, Terri Pendley and husband, David of Central City, KY; sons, Tony Boykin of Owensboro, KY and Troy Boykin and wife, Robyn of Madisonville; sisters, Marie Ellis of Sacramento, KY and Etta McClain of Madisonville; Brother, Charles Boykin of Ohio; grandchildren, Tyler Harris, Alex Adkins, Dylan Pendley, Chelsea Boykin, Ashlea Boykin and Jordan Boykin; great-grandson, Kadyn Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Don Duncan officiating. Burial to follow in Briar Creek Cemetery in Bremen, KY.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Harris, Alex Adkins, Jordan Boykin, Dylan Pendley, Tommy Hall and Allan Offutt.
