Earl Rose, 88, of Madisonville, KY. passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Saturday October 2, 2010 at NHC Healthcare of Madisonville.

He was born on August 27, 1922 in Greenville, KY. to the late Mary Jane Rose and William West Rose. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He was retired through IC Railroad and was of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by a son, William Rose of Madisonville; a daughter, Patricia Diane Long of Nortonville; two step-daughters, Norma Jean Barton of Phoenix, AZ. and Sharon Kay Rose of FL.; two brothers, Diddle Rose and Jewell Rose; two sisters; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday October 5, 2010 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Darren Nance officiating.Graveside services will be conducted by 101st Airborne Division and Hopkins County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.
