Dorothy Furgerson, 90, of Nortonville, KY passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at her home.

She was born on November 21, 1921 in Greenville, KY to the late Pearl Rosetta Rives Jarvis and Monroe Jarvis. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her children. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Furgerson; her second husband, David Jones; three sons; two sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by five daughters, Maxine Baldwin, Helen (Wayne) Cissna, Jean (Rachet) Baldwin all of Nortonville, Trudy (Jerry) McElwain of Mortons Gap, KY and Barbara Shumate of Nortonville; three sons, Ezra (Lois) Simms of Owensboro, KY, Rocky (Kim) Jones of St. Charles and Anthony (Nora) Jones of Princeton, KY; her sister, Daisy Woods of Illinois; thirty-two grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Eddie Knowles officiating. Burial will be in Hamby Cemetery in Nortonville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bob Baldwin, Lynn Turner, Tim Baldwin, Matt Jones, John Ratliff and Jr. Cissna. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Jones and Cody Jones.
