Doris Nourse Alyea of Huntington Beach, CA passed away on April 9, 2022.

She was born on November 3, 1940 in Madisonville, KY to the late Frank James Nourse and Bethel Cavanah Nourse, Doris spent her last years alternating between her homes in California and Arizona. As an organist and pianist, her passions were classical music along with choral music. She was a long-time choir member with the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Los Alamitos, CA, St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, CA and the Camarata Singers of Long Beach, CA.

Survivors include husband, Fred Girvin Hocking; daughter, Stacy Renee Alyea, and her husband, David Nehrir; son, Mark Finley Alyea, and his wife, Tiffany Lavelle Alyea; grandchildren, Kathryn (Katie) Margaret Nehrir (16), Siennah Lavelle Alyea (11) and Andrew James Alyea (10).

As per Doris' wishes, a memorial service will not be held. A private burial will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Coastal California Chorale under the direction of Dr. James Melton , www.coastalcachorale.com . Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
