Donnie "Congo" Eugene Hawkins, 55, of Manitou, KY passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on August 18, 1962 in Madisonville to the late Jo Nell and WA Hawkins, Sr. Donnie was formerly employed as a coal miner with Warrior Coal Company. He enjoyed Nascar, riding his golf cart, loved fishing with his grandson and truly loved his dog, Chewy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Hawkins; and his grandson, Lucas Pierce.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-three years, Wendy Hawkins; daughter, Brittany (Josh) Pierce of Madisonville; brothers, Billy (Brenda) Hawkins of Madisonville and Tony (Stefanie) Hawkins of Slaughters, KY; sisters, Patricia Churchwell of Manitou, Jo Ann (Earnie, Sr.) Eastwood, Carolyn (Bobby) Skeen and Sandy (Mike) Skeen all of Madisonville; grandson, Kolten Pierce of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Eddie Fleming officiating. Burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.

The pallbearers are Justin VanVactor, Chester Pleasant, Ernie Eastwood, Jr, B.J. Hawkins, Shane Hawkins, Tony Hawkins, Skippy Skeen and Norman Pleasant, Jr.
