Donald Wayne Mathis, 74, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at his home.

He was born on August 12, 1949, in Paducah, KY, to the late Bessie Baker Mathis and Arthur Mathis. He was formerly employed by All American Shows as a carnival worker. He loved fishing and the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Mathis and Trixie Owen; and brother, Ownie Mathis.

Survivors include his daughter, Bessie Mathis Prowell of Mortons Gap, KY; son, Randy Myer of Virginia; step-daughter, Stella Lynch of Madisonville; grandchildren, Christopher Prowell, Kaylie Prowell both of Dawson Springs, KY and Pandora Kingery of Mortons Gap; step-grandchildren, Kristopher Lynch and Katelynn Lynch both of Madisonville; step-great-grandchildren, Caroline and Emmerenne; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
