Dolly Ann Flowers Simmons, 85, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at NHC Healthcare of Madisonville.

She was born on August 31, 1929 in Harrodsburg, KY to the late William Frederick and Ruby Terhune Flowers. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville, KY, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. Dolly worked faithfully alongside her husband for thirty-eight years as he pastored churches in Ohio, Muhlenberg, Christian and Hopkins County. She was a graduate of Campbellsville College in Campbellsville, Ky.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Stanford Lee Simmons and her son, William David Simmons.

She is survived by her daughter, Patty Simmons of Madisonville; her son, Tim Simmons of Hanson, KY; one cousin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Charles Midkiff officiating. Burial to be held at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Logan County.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.
