David E. "Buddy" Cardwell, 82, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at NHC Healthcare of Madisonville.

He was born on July 24, 1936 in Manitou, KY to the late Sue Cardwell Major and Jessie David Cardwell. David was formerly a self employed truck driver which was his true passion.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Cardwell of thirty-six years; sisters, Betty Dunn and husband, Jon and Billie Cole both of Providence, KY; stepsons, Steve James and Bill James and wife, Debbie both of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Barry Cullen officiating. Burial to follow at Union Cemetery in Nebo, KY.

The visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Davids memory to the Union Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
