David Thomas Branson, 93, of Hanson, KY passed from this life into the glorious presence of Jesus on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville, KY.

He was born on March 30, 1928, in Hanson, KY to the late David W. and Zala Branson. He was an active member of Hanson Baptist Church and volunteer chaplain at two Kentucky prisons. David was a proud World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of seventy-three years, Margaret L. Branson; one daughter, Brenda Branson of Hanson; two sons, Gary (Charlotte) Branson of Madisonville, and Tom (Connie) Branson, both of Madisonville; grandchildren, Jeremy Branson of Greenville, KY, David (Ashley) Branson of Spring Hill, TN, Trevor (Brooke) Madera of Chicago, IL, Seth (Julia) Branson of Houston, TX, Jack (Callie) Branson of Cleveland, TN, Andra (Andrew) Allen of Spring Hill, TN, Luke (Amanda) Branson of Hanson, KY, Josiah (Christine) Branson of Denver, CO, Jillian Walker of Madisonville, KY, and Kelly Cooley of White Plains, KY; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Hanson Baptist Church in Hanson, KY, with Pastor Dan Hutchens officiating. M ilitary honors will be conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard . Burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the church.

Pallbearers will be David's grandsons.
