Darlene Jones, 67, of Madisonville, KY, surrounded by her family entered into heaven on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born on January 15, 1957, in Danville, KY, to the late Mildred Cunningham Crabtree and Edward F. Beard, Sr. Darlene loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to yard sales. She also loved her two yorkies, Issy and Clementine. Darlene attended Madisonville Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Charles Crabtree; grandparents, Johnny and Ollie Cunningham; and brothers, Edward "Eddie" Beard, Jr. and Willie Baird.

Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, William "Bill" Jones of Madisonville; three children whom she loved, Billy (Tonya) Jones, Shellie (Jeff) Higgins, and Basil Jones, all of Madisonville; four wonderful grandchildren, Jonathan Jones, Emile Jones, Malorie Higgins, and Lilian Higgins; great grandchildren, Kali Jewel Jones, Nova Rhea Jones, and Ella Jones (soon-to-be); siblings, Crinnia (David) Cartwright, Tammy (Brian) Parker, Rena (Mark) Nash of Jacksonville, NC, Greg (Jeane) Beard of Broomfield, CO, and Frank (Shannon) Baird, Jr. of Barstow, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Bradshaw officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Bill Cartwright, Johnny Beard, Brian Beard, Brent Parker, Jonathan Jones, and Dustin Phelps. Honorary pallbearer is Charles "Fat Cat" Cunningham.
