Danny Stokes, 56, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014.

He was born on January 8, 1958 in Madisonville, KY to Martha Stokes Hamby and the late Clarence Dewey Stokes. He was a self employed carpenter and attended Pritchett's Chapel in Madisonville.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Wayne Stokes; and his step-father, Roy Hamby.

He is survived by his mother, Martha Stokes Hamby of Madisonville; his daughter, Dana Marie Taylor; his sisters, Bonnie Stokes of Clarksville, TN and Paulette Stokes Walker of Murfreesboro, TN; his brother, Richard Stokes of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Steve Terry officiating. Burial to follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Mortons Gap, Ky.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home.
