Daniel Daves, Jr., 82, of Madisonville, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.

He was born on August 28, 1941, in Providence, KY, to the late Daniel Kendrick Daves, Sr. and Hazel Irene Winebarger Daves. Daniel served our country in the army from November 1963 to November 1965. Daniel retired after working thirty-eight years for the Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville, IN. He displayed his kind and gentle heart through his faithful acts of service to his church family as a Sunday school teacher and deacon for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Darin Scott Daves (June 2021).

Survivors include the love of his life and his wife of fifty-seven years, Dorothy Daves; daughter, Dana (Ronnie) Martin; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Daves; grandchildren, Sarah (Vance) Martin, Benjamin Martin, Maci (Logan) Childs, and Dalton Daves; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Grapevine Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Partin officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the church. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Ben Martin, Dalton Daves, Vance Martin, Mark Boggs, John Metcalfe, and Roy Hibbs.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Daniel's memory to a mission's ministry of your choice.
