Clifford Wayne Elkins, 69, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at his home.

He was born on September 14, 1954, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Leona Haun Nunn and Clarence Samuel Elkins, Sr. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was formerly employed as a plumber for Sullivan Plumbing, for the City of Madisonville in the Sanitation Department, and his most important job was being a full-time Papaw. He shared his patriotic spirit with his community by walking the streets of downtown Madisonville and waving his American flag. Clifford attended Grapevine Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Samuel Elkins, Jr., and sisters, Betty Jo Brown and Mamie Helen Cook.

Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Linda Caraway Elkins; daughters, Christie (James) Brantley of Sturgis, KY, Carla Lee Moore and Wendy Elkins, both of Madisonville; sons, Carl (Kayla) Moore of Eddyville, KY, Kenneth (Margaret) Richard Moore of Greenville, KY, and Carl (Krystal) Eugene Elkins of Madisonville; sisters, Rose Marie Pentecost, Peggy Ann (Earl Ray) Huggins, and Hazel Dorche; grandchildren, Austin, Houston, Allexus, Lillian, Dakota, Brandon, Destiny, Damien, Brittnie, Scottie, Olivia, Zackarie, Sophia, Everlee, Heather, Mary, Diamond, Dalton, and Jaden; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Caraway officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
