Charles William Scott, 87, of Port St. Lucie, FL,  formerly of Madisonville, KY, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his home.

He was born on December 10, 1937, in Hopkins County, KY, to the late Mary Sue Simms Scott and Charles M. Scott. Charles and his wife, Linda, would have been married fifty-two years this coming April. He was a retired Tipple Foreman of thirty-seven years from Peabody Coal Company. He was an avid UK basketball fan, enjoyed gardening, farming, and gospel music. Charles was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a devout Christian man.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda K. Duncan Scott; daughter, April (Lacy) Kennett; grandchildren, Lindsey (Blake) Bibbee, Daniel Scott, Madison (Giovanni) King, and Emma Edwards; great-grandchildren, William Crawford, Samuel Bibbee, Morgan Scott, and Rylee Scott; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Old Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY, with Rev. Tony Lipford officiating. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
