Charles Wayne Kistner, 76, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on March 22, 1943 in Madisonville to the late Elizabeth Juanita Goodwin and Paul Charles Kistner. Charles was formerly a coal miner with Island Creek Coal Company and was a member for over thirty years at Christian Assembly. He enjoyed reading his bible, listening to southern gospel music and loved attending church revivals. Charles was also kindly known as Santa Claus, he helped Santa as much as possible by taking on his role lovingly when he could not be there.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Sharon Kistner; brother, Terry Kistner of Clearwater, FL; several nieces and their families; his adopted family, Richard and Kathy Bittle and Jon and Katie Davis all of Madisonville.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Browning Springs Middle School Auditorium with Rev. Roy Gene Ellis officiating. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville was entrusted with care.

The visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the service hour Thursday at the auditorium.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers in  Charles' memory to the Christian Assembly Church Building Fund.
