Cary Wayne Phillips, 61, of Crofton, Ky. passed away at 2:42 p.m. on Tuesday November 24, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He was born on April 3, 1948 in Hopkins County, Ky. to the late Wayne M. Phillips and Edna Dawson Phillips. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed at Western State Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Welby Phillips and Phillip Phillips.

He is survived by Mary Provo; four children, Jake, Susan, Kimberly and Scott; three sisters, Sharon Elaine Smith of Hopkinsville, Ky.; Delores Girdley of Manitou and Dorothy Crawford of Henderson, Ky.; one brother, Edwin Phillips of Marion, Ky.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday November 28, 2009 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, Ky. with Rev. Eddie Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Brier Creek Cemetery near Millport, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Randy Joiner, P.J. Joiner, Shannon Cline, Carroll Morrow, Matthew William and Roger Breedlove.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at Harris Funeral Home.
