Bud Arvil Young, 90, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at his home.

He was born on October 5, 1934, in Hanson, KY, to the late Lillian Pearl Ashby Young and Ernest Andrew Young. He was formerly employed as a welder for Peabody Coal Company. He enjoyed yard work and flowers. Bud was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Nelda Mae Young; sisters, Ruth Galloway, Willie Todd, and Willa Dean Pentecost; brothers, James Young and Ernest Earl Young; and his granddaughter, Kenya Curl.

His survivors include his sons, Rodger (Pam) Young of Nortonville, KY, Kenneth (Wanita) Young of Earlington, KY, and Gary (June) Young of Madisonville; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Bill McCann officiating and Trace McCann assisting. Burial to be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Buddy Young, Kenny Young, Jr., Bill Todd, Terry Young, Joe Terry, and Kieth Terry. Honorary pallbearers are Kendra Young and Keitha Burden.
