Obituary

Dr. Robert Walter Morrison, 69, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his home.

He was born on March 3, 1952, in Chicago, IL, to the late Betty Kitzer Morrison and Lawrence "Dutch" Morrison. Dr. Bob pastored many churches over his life including Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville, where he was also a member.  He served as the Director of Missions for the Little Bethel Baptist Association for twenty years. He was a Professor of Religion at Madisonville Community College for several years. His passion was soul winning and spent his entire life dedicated to that.  One of his favorite things to do was flying his airplane. He was able to use it for God's glory by being a member of Pilots for Christ. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of Faith Riders, again turning a hobby into a way to witness for Christ. Dr. Bob had a love for horses and used them in ministry while serving as the chaplain at Wranglers Campground at Land Between the Lakes for over twenty years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Schar.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Fran Huemmer Morrison; daughters, Jennifer (Andy) Bryant of Florence, AL, Kristin (Philip) Goodloe of LaGrange, KY; Robin (Bobby) Murray of Madisonville, and Kelly Cloern of Lexington, KY; brother, Michael Morrison of North Carolina; sister, Laura Tripp of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Kate, Tori, Haleigh, Shelby, Dylan, Justin, Kayden, Riley, and Libby; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Carson, Eliora, and Lainee; several butterfly babies and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville with Pastor Tim Adcock and Pastor Tim Morgan officiating. Burial to follow at Grapevine Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church, and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the church.
