Billy Joe Richardson, 71, of St. Charles, KY passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on May 14, 1943 in Empire, KY to Edith Richardson and the late William Lake Richardson. He was a coal miner at Smith Coal Mines and was owner and operator of Richardson Construction Company.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Tina Richardson.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Richardson; his mother, Edith Richardson of St. Charles; his sons, Jeffery Richardson of Nortonville, KY, Michael (Lu Ann) Richardson of Madisonville and Craig (Rena) Richardson of Dawson Springs, KY; his daughter, Kathy (Paul) Adcock of Madisonville; his brothers, Tommy Wayne Richardson, David Richardson and Gary Richardson; his sister, Bonnie Rogers; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Brad Payne and Pastor Brian Richardson officiating. Burial to follow in Gilland Ridge Church Cemetery in St. Charles, Ky.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Richardson, Tyler Richardson, Joel Adcock, Seth Adcock, Cory Richardson, Kyle Richardson and Brandon Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kayla Richardson, Kelsey Richardson, Katelyn Richardson, Haylee Adcock, Maegan Adcock and Krista Moore.
