William "Bill" Edward Williams, 78, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

He was born on September 26, 1944, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Alice Mildred Hatler Williams and Clifford Williams. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a firefighter with the Madisonville Fire Department. He loved fishing. Bill was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hilda Gammon, Elizabeth Nevit, Anna "Tootsie" Kwiatkowski, Juanita Cates, and Clara Lindstrum; brothers, Thurman "Lee" Williams, Clifford R.  Williams, Jimmy Williams, and Roy Douglas Williams.

Survivors include his brother, Strother W. (Sherry Faye) Williams of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Misty Blue.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Chaplain Bill McCann officiating with military honors conducted by the United States Army. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be the City of Madisonville Fire Department.
