Bettye Myers Shelton, 90, of Madisonville, KY, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, July 4, 2024. She was born on November 7, 1933, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Ophelia and Frank Myers.

In 1973, Bettye moved to South Bend, IN to take on employment at Bendix Corp. She loved bowling, gardening, bingo, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bottis Shelton; sons, Howard Rankins Jr., Bottis Shelton III,  and Tyrone Shelton; sister, Mattie Stephens; brother, James Ezra Gant; and granddaughter, Tanya Jones.

Bettye leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children, Randolph Shelton, June Hollie, and Vincent (Lisa) Shelton; sisters-in-law, Anita Dickerson, Mary Gant, and Jean Shelton; brother-in-law, Donald Shelton; grandchildren, Randolph Shelton, Jr., Armando Williams, Ryan Flemming, Travis Flemming, Erica Shelton, Nikki Shelton, Chase Hollie, Terrence Shelton, Marcus Shelton, Moneisha Pope, Andrea Green, Erica Shelton, Erin
Carter-Wortham, Tyrone Shelton, Jason Shelton, Jamelle Shelton, Terrell Carter, Tasha Shelton, Toya Shelton, and Toya Howard; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville was entrusted with care.
