Betty Rickard Jenkins, 71, of Madisonville, KY. passed away at 9:17 a.m. on Monday June 21, 2010 at her home.

She was born on April 22, 1939 in Hopkins County, KY. to the late Ruby Almon Rickard and William Henry Rickard. She was a bookkeeper at State Farm Insurance in Madisonville. She was a member and treasurer at Bethlehem Christian Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Candice Jenkins; a son, Roger Wayne Jenkins and a brother, Tommy Rickard.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Wayne Jenkins; a daughter, Melanie (Brian) Campbell of Clarksville, TN.; a brother, Willie Rickard of Madisonville; a niece, Sue Marks of Madisonville; special friend, Sue "Granny" Crowe of Madisonville and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday June 24, 2010 at Bethlehem Christian Church in Madisonville with Bro. Tim Mason officiating and Bro. Howard Crowe assisting. Burial will be in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at Bethlehem Christian Church.

Pallbearers will be Larry Root, Paul Marks, Gene Franklin, Gene Darnell, Barry Slaton and Donnie Todd. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Carlisle and Bud Todd.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
