Betty Gipson, 73, of Nebo, Ky. passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 2:04 P.m. at her home.

She was born on November 25, 1937 in Madisonville, Ky. to the late Louvenia and James E. Allen. She was a homemaker and was a member of First House of God in Madisonville, Ky.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Gipson and a sister, Shirley Graham.

She is survived by two daughters, Kim (Rob) Campbell and Amy Gipson all of Nebo; two sons, Michael Gipson of Madisonville and Eric Gipson of Nebo; a sister, Pat Allen of Madisonville; a brother, James Allen of Missouri; a granddaughter, Misty Gipson of Nebo; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday August 19, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Tommy Hayes and Taylor Brown officiating. Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville. Pallbearers will be Rob Campbell, Roger Parker, Mark D. Minton, Austin Bean, Larry Brown and Chad Caraway. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark F. Minton, Billy Parrish and Nathan Wester.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
