Beatrice Gibson Cunningham, 90, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at her home.

She was born on April 26, 1933, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Hallie Hawkins Gibson and William T. Gibson. She enjoyed watching westerns and Wheel of Fortune. Her favorite food was snack cakes. Beatrice was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, James Louis Cunningham; grandchildren, Christopher Shorette and Michael Shorette; five brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, Gary Cunningham of Madisonville; daughters, Debbie (Don) Cottrell of Hanson, KY, and Kathy Shorette Ruby of Madisonville; sister, Brenda (Henry) Faughn of Madisonville; grandchildren, Andrea Tompkins, Tonna (Mike) Sullivan, Brandi Cottrell, and Kimberly Tucker; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson with Pastor Chris Whitmer officiating. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
