Barbara Curneal Skimehorn, 61, of Nortonville, Ky. passed away at 2:34 p.m. on Friday January 7, 2011 at her home.

She was born on March 4, 1949 in Madisonville, Ky. to the late Melvin Curneal and Ada Lee Parker Curneal. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She attended New Good Hope Church in Nortonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Curneal and Leonard Curneal; two sisters, Betty Curneal and Bonnie Brackett Lee and a daughter-in-law, Mylinda Lee Skimehorn.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Rhea Skimehorn; a son, Timothy Skimehorn of Nortonville; a daughter, Becky (Lynn) Turner of Nortonville; four sisters, Mary Franklin of Providence, KY., Estelle Ipock of Madisonville, Wanda Tirey of Henderson, KY and Brenda Crowley of Madisonville; a brother, Roger Curneal of Illinois; two grandsons, Austin Turner and Noah Skimehorn and one step-granddaughter, Ella Chandler

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday January 11, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Larry Phaup officiating. Burial will be in Union Crossroads Church Cemetery near Nortonville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Franklin, Willie Sisk, Robert Sisk, Roger Skimehorn, Kendel Cotton and Everett Eastwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes available at the funeral home.
