Barbara Faye Smith, 69, of Madisonville died at 6:55 a.m. Saturday Feb. 14, 2009, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

She was born April 9, 1939, in Hopkins County. She was a homemaker and member of Nortonville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Hugh W. "Toby" Smith, on Feb. 5, 2006; her father, Thurman Smith; and her mother, Kathryn McClaren Smith.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Joyce Smith of Madisonville, Rusty and Kim Smith of Bremen and Drew and Nicole Smith of White Plains; a sister, Rebecca Gibson of Madisonville; an aunt, Dorothy Flynn Poole of Madisonville; and seven grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, with Brother Troy Doster and Brother Bobby Reno officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons Brad Smith Jr., Neil Smith, Cody Smith, Kyle Smith, Connor Smith and Sawyer Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be granddaughter Scarlett Smith.
