Arthur Ray Rhye, 81, of Nortonville, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on January 12, 1940 in Barnsley, KY to the late Nina Williams Rhye and Rossie Lee Rhye. Arthur was formerly a coal miner at Sinclair Mine and was a member of The House of Prayer in Madisonville, KY. He enjoyed mules and working them on the farm and liked hunting.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ross Junior Rhye, John Henry "Ramous" Rhye and Gennie Rhye; sister, Janet Slaton; grandson, Samuel Britt; and his granddaughter, Naomi Britt.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Caria McGregor Rhye of Nortonville, KY; sons, Jeff Rhye of Nortonville, and Andrew (Frances) Rhye of White Plains, KY; daughters, Cynthia (Donald) Britt of Nortonville and Margie (Jammie) Wagoner of Crofton, KY; sister, Jona Knapp of Madisonville; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Roger Fuller officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at the funeral home.

The pallbearers are Jeff Rhye, Jonathan Britt, Timothy Britt, B.J. Neighbors, Chris Alfred and Austin Rhye.
